Purpose of the program: The program enables the alumni body to recognize and honor former classmates, peers, and other worthy alumni of the medical school. It also highlights the achievement and accomplishments of graduates who have distinguished themselves in the field of medicine, science, research, diversity, equity, and inclusion, or other endeavors.
The program is overseen by the Alumni Recognition Committee of the Geisel Alumni Council and administered through the Office of Alumni Engagement.
Award Categories: Read more about the four award categories and submit a nomination form at the corresponding links below.
Nomination Process: Nominations are accepted from any alumnus of the school as well as from other members and friends of the Geisel, Dartmouth Hitchcock, and Dartmouth College Communities.
To nominate an alumna/us, complete the online form which asks for information on the nominee’s background, qualifications, and attributes relevant to the particular award. Please have all materials and information on hand before beginning any of these nomination forms, as you will not be able to save your progress and return at a later time. A copy of the individual’s curriculum vitae or resume and two letters of recommendation are also required (these must be provided before the deadline). See the sample letter to request your nominee’s credentials.
The individual submitting the nomination is responsible for securing and forwarding the nominee's CV or resume, and letters of recommendation. These documents can be emailed to Geisel.Alumni.Relations@dartmouth.edu (please write Alumni Award in the subject line). Submissions that do not include the nomination form, a CV or resume, and two letters of recommendation by the nomination due date will be considered incomplete and will not be considered for review by the Alumni Recognition Committee.
