Alumni HOST Program
One of the easiest and most direct ways to connect with Geisel students and lend a helping hand is through our "Helping Our Students Travel" (HOST) program. Alumni participants have an opportunity to be a resource for our students while they are traveling out of the Upper Valley:
- lodging to fourth year students traveling to internship and residency second look interviews during the winter, saving students hundreds of dollars on the costly process of interviewing for residencies. Note: only one program currently requires in-person interviews.
- meeting/providing a student(s) on rotation in your city for coffee or dinner; providing a time of connection to our Geisel community.
Welcome a student into your home or taking them for out for coffee, and you’ll be rewarded with the chance to make a personal connection with a Geisel student and get an inside view of the medical school experience of today. For their part, students appreciate the perspectives alumni can share about their local community and possibly the medical center at which the student is interviewing/rotating, and the chance to discuss their career aspirations and learn from your experiences.
Sign me up! I want to volunteer as a host.
The HOST program is sponsored by the Office of Student Life in cooperation with the Office of Alumni Engagement.
