Alumni Awards Program Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth

The Alumni Awards honor distinguished members of the Geisel School of Medicine / Dartmouth Medical School alumni community whose accomplishments, service, and dedication have advanced healthcare, research, medical education, and the well-being of communities around the world.

Alumni Awards  

  • The Young Alumni Award recognizes graduates of the past 15 years for outstanding service, leadership, or career achievement. Recipients demonstrate an exceptional impact through their professional accomplishments, contributions to medicine or science and service to their communities.
  • The Outstanding Service Award recognizes alumni whose sustained leadership, service, and dedication have made a meaningful impact on the Geisel School of Medicine, Dartmouth Health, and/or the broader community. Through mentorship, volunteerism, advocacy, or engagement, this individual has strengthened connections and advanced the mission of the institution.
  • The Career Achievement Award honors alumni whose distinguished careers have advanced the fields of medicine, science, research, or healthcare through exceptional achievement and leadership. Nominees should demonstrate exceptional leadership, accomplish specific discoveries, innovation, or findings in their discipline, and have received recognition which brings greater honor to this institution.
  • The Distinguished Alumni Award honors alumni at least 15 years out from graduation who have typified the Geisel/DMS tradition of excellence and brought credit to the institution by their personal accomplishment, professional achievement, and/or by making significant contributions locally, regionally, nationally, and/or internationally. 

 

Nomination Process:

  • Nominations Open: July 1, 2026
  • Nominations Close: February 28, 2027
  • Awardees Selected: March 2027
  • Awardees Announced: May 2027

Nominations may be submitted by alumni, faculty, staff, students, and friends of the Geisel School of Medicine, Dartmouth Health, and Dartmouth College. To nominate an alumna/us, complete the online form. A copy of the nominee’s curriculum vitae and two letters of support are also required as part of the nomination.  Incomplete nominations and submissions received after the deadline will not be considered. The program is overseen by the Alumni Recognition Committee of the Geisel Alumni Council and administered through the Office of Alumni Engagement.
